Hive is a modern 2-player abstract strategy games that feels a bit like chess, except that instead of an army, we have insects, and instead of the King, we have a Queen Bee!
Each piece has its own movement ability, and there is no physical board: pieces are all connected to each other forming the hive, you can play on any flat surface.
Hive is turning 25 and it’s still well known both to casual players who look for a quick and fun challenge, and to competitive players who spend years studying the game in depth and playing tournaments!
Come to the stall to learn the game in 10 minutes and join the afternoon tournament. No minimum entry level, no knock-out, just have fun and learn. I promise I’ll give you some tips beforehand! Did I say we also have prizes?
Recommended age 9+ (no experience required for the tournament apart from knowing the rules of Hive)
