Games are entertainment. Games are art. Games are so much more.

Games are great at distracting us from the real world but interactive entertainment is also a media that can express our deepest emotions and most sensitive thoughts - helping others to explore and cope with their own inner world. Games are also a powerful tool to communicate and teach complex ideas - they can even drive social change.

In this talk, Imre Jele explores the best examples of games with purpose and meaning beyond pure entertainment and puts forward a case of why learning the skills to create games-beyond-entertainment is also a crucial tool to create entertainment.

Recommended for ages 14+, particularly suited to those working in games or interested in a career working in games (aged 14+). Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
