We're getting ready to relaunch Norwich Games Festival (NGF) for 2024, and we're delighted to introduce our new Games Festival Producer Ellie Buchan.
NGF24 will include favourites such as the Retro Gaming Arcade, as well as new events focusing on programming and coding. Ellie's background has been in education, with a focus on teaching creative digital media production and leading a team to shape creative and technical curriculum provision, delivering games, Esports, computing, media, film and music technology.
Ellie has already begun to work on programming for 2024, and is looking forward to creating a programme for everybody to enjoy. As always, NGF24 will include lots of free activities in The Forum's Atrium, as well as a programme of workshops, talks, and more.
With hands-on gameplay, developer and designer showcases, Esports tournaments, industry talks and workshops, an immersive VR gaming experience and so much more, Norwich Games Festival has something for everyone, whether you're a committed gamer or just wanting to experience something new.
"I am so excited to be working with such an experienced and engaged range of partners supporting The Forum as we bring Norwich Games Festival back in 2024 - it has long been a popular and extremely well attended event in the city's calendar, attracting a wide audience.
The Festival offers an opportunity for families, individuals, businesses, community groups and sector organisations to come together to celebrate, promote and support the games industry - offering hands-on gameplay, competitions, developer showcases, industry talks and workshops - much of which will be free to attend. This year will feature coding, designer showcases and skills and career development support, including a focus on women in STEM and those under-represented in the industry. The festival also includes the fast-growing table top board gaming community.
You don’t have to be a gamer to get involved and we’re looking forward to welcoming people of all ages back to what promises to be a diverse, exciting and engaging festival, with something for everyone!" ~ Ellie Buchan
