Our panel of professionals explain how you can turn your passion into a profession and get a career in esports, and what it’s like working in the industry.

Includes a Q&A session so you can get your questions answered.

The panellists are:

Callum ‘Cal’ Dornan, CEO of SAF gg, a passion project turned into a successful business. He founded it in 2018 as a hobby, writing up long player reviews on FIFA/FC, a game he has played for decades. In just four years, SAF has grown to over 4 million followers, become the runner-up world champions of FC, and expanded its brand across the globe.

Callum ‘Cal’ Dornan

Joe Brady, a freelance photographer with over 10 years experience in the esports industry. He’s worked on events all over the world for a wide variety of games including Call of Duty, League of Legends, Counter-Strike, Apex Legends and Valorant.

Leyna ‘Affinity’ McQuillin is an esports host and commentator in both Valorant and Counter-Strike, and is also studying esports at university.

Harry ‘HazzaJC’ Chapman is a freelance esports commentator and host, specialising in tactical shooters such as VALORANT and Counter-Strike. He first made a start in the industry through university during lockdown, turning from a hobby driven by a passion for esports to a full-time job which has taken him to events across the world.

Moderator:

Dominic Sacco. The founder and editor of Esports News UK, an online publication covering League of Legends, Valorant, Counter-Strike and more. He has written for the likes of Nintendo, Riot Games and the British Esports Federation, and was a finalist for ‘Journalist of the Year’ at the 2023 Esports Awards.
